People & Lifestyle

Belleview residents are friendly and open to meeting newcomers. It's a tight-knit community that loves to come together for annual events—many of which take place near the centerpiece of Lake Lillian.

From arts and crafts festivals to the annual Easter egg hunt, people here love getting to know their neighbors and making memories together. It's no surprise that young families flock to the area thanks to how many passive and active recreational activities there are to do for people of all ages.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

Being a small town, many places in Belleview are locally-owned and close to the neighborhood.

The Market of Marion is the go-to hotspot for thrifty shoppers. A sprawling market center stuffed to the brim with everything you could imagine—including a farmers’ market, antiques, collectibles, clothes, and much more—it's no surprise that people love regularly visiting this market. Aside from their bargain prices and low vendor rates, Marion frequently hosts events such as bake sales and car shows that are fun for the whole family.

To satisfy your sweet tooth, there’s no better destination than Ms. Steve’s Ice Cream, a popular drive-thru and hangout spot for young folks and families. Friendly service, fair prices, and tons of ice cream combinations make Ms. Steve's the perfect choice for a frozen treat.

For authentic Italian food, there's no better place than Belleview Pizza and Italian Restaurant or Pasta Faire. The former is beloved for their pizzas while the latter is perfect if you're craving ooey-gooey cheesy pasta dishes of all shapes and sizes. Regulars recommend trying the eggplant parmesan and carrot cake from Pasta Faire. Make sure to wear your stretchy jeans so you can dig into their homemade bread!

Belleview Pizza and Italian Restaurant is a smaller, cash-only, family-friendly joint that’s popular with locals and great if you're low on time and just want to grab a delicious slice of pizza loaded with customizable toppings.

If you're looking for a great place for coffee or to meet up with friends, B.D. Beans Coffee CO. is the perfect spot. Designed with eclectic and funky decor, this charming café with excellent brews doubles as a fantastic place for breakfast.

Things to Do

One of Belleview's claims to fame is being home to Don Garlits Museum of Drag Racing. Garlits' name is synonymous with drag racing and you can learn about his extensive history—along with the sport— by visiting the museum. More than 300 cars are available to view between two separate buildings. Touring the entire facility takes approximately 2-3 hours and is a great way to spend a weekend afternoon.

If you have kids and are looking for a way to keep them entertained for a few hours, especially in the summer heat, the Belleview Splash Pad is a great destination. Let the little ones run wild in the fountains and standing water without having to worry about them getting in over their heads at a swimming pool.

Lake Lillian is another lovely hangout spot for families and gatherings. The large pavilion located at the park is available for locals to rent completely free of charge! Host birthday parties, barbecues, and more by the gorgeous lake with plenty of open space for the young ones to run around. There are also long walking trails to enjoy.

During the fall months, Timberline Farms is the best place to go for their twisty corn maze and pumpkin patch! Prep for the holidays by picking the perfect pumpkin to carve and then riding the annual hayride! Of course, the farm has a lot to enjoy year-round, including educational exhibits and activities to promote learning more about farming and agriculture.
