Striking a balance between living in the country and the suburbs.

Summerfield is an unincorporated community in Marion County that is one of several peaceful communities in the area. It is growing at a fast rate, with lots more to see and do in the area than there was a few years ago.

Suburban, yet still filled with wide-open spaces, life in Summerfield strikes a nice balance for those who want to feel like they’re living in the country yet also like to be close to their neighbors and local hotspots.

What to Love

  • Close to great shopping spots

  • Nearby recreational activities

  • Spacious neighborhoods

  • Spacious, affordable homes

  • Healthy economy

People & Lifestyle

The majority of Summerfield’s population is over the age of 50 since it’s a slow-paced community despite its evolution. It has become more prosperous over the years and has attracted several building projects. Spruce Creek South is an active adult community and one of the biggest draws to the area.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

Sunset Delights is an easy-to-miss spot for fast food and ice cream, but its off-the-map appearance shouldn’t dissuade you from dining there. A Summerfield gem, families love visiting Sunset Delights after a long day to relax on the gazebo while enjoying frozen treats.

Make sure you arrive hungry and ready to chow down when you visit Artman Country Smokehouse because their portions are huge and finger-licking good. Barbecue staples like baked beans, collard greens, cornbread, pork belly, ribs, and more line their menu—you'll want to try a little bit of everything!

As the name suggests, Villa Pinar Cuban Cafeteria is the best place in town for authentic Cuban cuisine made fresh daily. Their specials change regularly and the prices are fair.

The Legacy Restaurant at Nancy Lopez Country Club is a high-end eatery overlooking an immaculately well-kept golf course. The interior looks like an upscale casino with artistic decor and a grand ambiance. Legacy also offers entertainment on most days of the week with live music and special events.

Like its neighboring town Weirsdale, Summerfield is not far from the local shopping and downtown hub, The Villages

There, you’ll find Almost Perfect Furniture & Home Decor, a massive warehouse of sophisticated items to fill up your space and make it cozy. Owners Eric and Ashley Maso love helping people buy and sell furniture.

Things to Do

If you happen to be on your way to The Villages, there is a beautiful field in Summerfield off of U.S. Route 441 heading south. It blooms once a year and makes an excellent photo opportunity.

Make sure to also add W.H Willoughby Park to your list of fun outdoor activities since this small park near Little Lake Weir has picnic tables, fishing, and plenty of wildlife to photograph.

The Dragon Flower Winery is an excellent place for a girls’ trip or a weekend visit when the kids are elsewhere. This winery is committed to creating handcrafted wines that are suitable for every occasion! Each wine has its own special characteristics and the wine tastings are a delightful experience.

Spruce Creek South is a reserved and private community for active adults over 55. Located just north of The Villages, it’s teeming with recreational activities for members and is near several thoroughbred horse farms.

Residents are permitted to ride their golf carts just about anywhere and the roads are lined with large trees to create a sense of intimacy. Between the golf course, hobby rooms, fitness center, and ballroom to host social events, residents are never bored.

Summerfield students are catered to by the Marion County School District in Ocala. Village View Christian Academy is one of the most prestigious private schools in the area.
